Sometimes a riddle, then the answer.

Sometimes I am stubborn, I won't bend or sway.
Sometimes I give in both by night and by day.
Sometimes I argue and shout, then speak no more.
I only do what I want,
nothing more. At times I am strict, then too easy to read.
But I always remain true to who
